Tetsuya Nakatake
b. 1979, Ibaraki, Japan
Animation Producer
After graduating from Amusement Media Academy in 2000, Nakatake joined Production I.G and worked on titles including Sengoku Basara, Kimi ni Todoke, and Guilty Crown. In 2012, he co-founded WIT STUDIO with Joji Wada and Kyoji Asano, breaking out from Production I.G to forge a new home for ambitious animation. In 2022, he became co-CEO of JOEN, a producing company jointly established by WIT STUDIO, CloverWorks, Aniplex, and Shueisha.
Best known as producer of Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Vinland Saga, Ranking of Kings, and SPY×FAMILY — works that have defined Japanese animation for global audiences.
